"My greatest satisfaction is in creating an environment that not only reflects a client's material and lifestyle needs but nourishes the senses... and that includes the sense of humor!"
A graduate of Parsons School of Design, Michelle Slovak has been involved with almost every aspect of home furnishings; in addition to interior design and decoration she has designed textiles, china, glassware, rugs and furniture. She also has created dozens of make-over stories and home decorating ideas for a variety of magazines—including Better Homes & Gardens Decorating and Woman's Day Special Interests Publications.

Her interior design projects are often featured in Rose B. Gilbert's syndicated column, 'Decor Score,' carried by newspapers across the country.

Ms. Slovak is often hired specifically for her color expertise. She brings her unique ability to uncover the client's signature palette and then translates it into a beautiful interior. A client recently remarked, "I love the way Michelle works with color. I feel as though I am living in a Rothko painting!"

Currently, she is working on several projects using sustainable products. "Now it is easier than ever to specify more environmentally friendly materials and still accomplish the client's requisite design goals. Hopefully, before too long 'green design' will just be the norm. Many of the resources I have always used were already employing 'green' practices. Green has many shades; my commitment is to guide the client through the labyrinth of choices so that the end result is a beautiful, healthy, happy home."

Ms. Slovak is listed in the all-new Greenopia New York City guide and online guide, a guide dedicated to greener living.
